Mr. Trejo brings his broad experience, along with his ability to dissect and manage complicated issues, to protect and champion client interests. He comes from a background in compliance work for businesses engaged in securities and commodities trading. In addition to making sure they complied with all the securities regulations, he has also helped protect them through various business agreements covering partnership and employment as well as intellectual property concerns. Mr. Trejo has staunchly defended clients’ trademark rights and successfully negotiated with infringers to maximize client benefits.
Before joining Atom Law Group, Mr. Trejo also worked in litigation. For example, he participated in complicated condominium litigation involving a well-known building in Chicago where he dealt with issues like spoliation and equitable defenses. Since then, he has successfully and efficiently navigated clients through the litigation process without compromising the flexibility to champion their often evolving needs.
Mr. Trejo earned his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law where he participated in trademark moot court. He completed a judicial externship with the Illinois Appellate Court where he helped draft judicial opinions for appealed cases covering areas such as tax law, civil procedure, and constitutional law and gained an insider’s perspective into the litigation process. He also gained experience in the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation where he helped to prosecute the misconduct of Illinois licensed professionals.
Mr. Trejo’s bachelor degree is from the University of Texas in both government and linguistics. An avid music lover with a sizable catalogue of popular music, Mr. Trejo attends numerous shows each month and travels to festivals all over the United States. Mr. Trejo speaks Spanish.
